Hello, I’m Melanie Jane. I have had a passion for photography for over 25 years, and my love of the art has never diminished.
My interest began when I was working as a MUA for Photographers around the UK, and became inspired to train formally as a Professional Photographer. When I qualified I began working for studios around London and Essex, before going it alone with my brand Melanie Jane Photography. This proved to be the best decision I made, as it enabled me to develop my own style. I have since gone on to shoot over 100 weddings.
I extremely enjoy working with my couples and their nearest and dearest because I love getting to know and photographing people. I’m so fortunate to have the best job in the world
When I’m not shooting and editing weddings, I love to spend time in the great outdoors with my husband and my Cocker Spaniel, Hamish.

We cannot recommend Melanie Jane enough! We had the pleasure of having Melanie capture our day and her attention to detail and professionalism was second to none! She was able to capture everything that we had discussed prior to our wedding and more! Even offered us a complimentary family shoot after our day as our youngest was not keen on posing for photos on the day! Melanie even stayed past the agreed to due to some late changes to the order of the day. Very good value for money and we had our image catalogue, very nicely presented in a bespoke box, within 2 weeks of our wedding day! Would definitely recommend Melanie Jane, friendly and attentive service at a very competitive price.

Melanie Jane was very friendly yet professional from start to finish. We really appreciated the “get to know you” session ahead of the wedding to meet and discuss the style of photography we would like. It also helped put us at ease in front of the camera.
On the day of our wedding, Melanie Jane was incredible. Despite the gale force winds she was able to capture lovely moments with all of our friends and family.
The presentation of our photos in a personalised box with some print outs and memory stick of the rest of our images was a lovely, unexpected touch.

Melanie provide an outstanding service right from the very start. From the first meeting right through to the final photos. Melanie was there from 12pm to 9pm on our wedding day and was superb all day. The quality of the photos are absolutely stunning. Melanie photographed our wedding on the 12th May 2023 at Cain Manor in Surrey. Leading up to our wedding Melanie was super helpful and took us through how she likes to work and what we wanted from our wedding shots, timings, and various options for different weather scenarios. Melanie took time out to visit the venue with me before the wedding day so she could get a feel for the venue and photo opportunities. She truly is passionate about her work and goes the extra mile. She has captured the most special moments of our special day and has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting, and expression. We have some amazing natural and creative photos. Melanie is extremely professional and unobtrusive and put myself, my husband and all of our guests at ease throughout the day. We will treasure our photographs forever.
